Baptist Insurance – read the small print

Treasurers of independent Baptist churches who insure their premises with the Baptist Insurance Company PLC (BIC) may soon find themselves members of an inclusive organisation under the presidency of the Bishop of London.
Unless they opt out, the church insurance group is making all its policy holders members of the Association of Church Treasurers and Accountants (ACAT). All Baptist Insurance policy holders will automatically become ACAT members through this block deal announced by BIC chairman Alan Wilson, who is a trustee and treasurer of ACAT.
Membership is being given to treasurers of all Baptist Union of Great Britain churches in England and Wales, and all Baptist Union of Scotland churches, as well as 300 independent churches that are insured by BIC.
