Church closure
Seven churches in Algeria have been ordered to close, after a law was passed in government that required churches to register as a place designated for specific religious purposes.
The Protestant Church in Algeria has allegedly received notice from a high police commissioner warning that a decision had been made to shut down all Christian places of worship that do not have the appropriate designation.
Other reports suggest that the total number of churches required to shut up shop is seven, in one particular province, because legal hurdles made it impossible for them to register.
