It takes the 70 ‘Resolutions’ written by Jonathan Edwards, a pastor and theologian in the United States (1703–1758). He began writing his ‘Resolutions’ in 1722, aged 18. Over the next 18 months he added to them, totalling 70 in all. The purpose behind them was that they might guide and guard his direction of life for God.
