Gender Bible
The latest translation of the New International Version has stirred up controversy both sides of the Atlantic, according to reports from Associated Press (AP).
The gender-neutral language version, brought out this year, drew criticism from many organisations, such as the US Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.
The changes include taking the word ‘he’ and making it ‘they’, to be gender neutral. But, according to Randy Stinson, President of the CBMW and Dean of the School of Church Ministries at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, this can lead to even more confusion.
He said, ‘Evangelicals believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of Scripture. We believe every word is inspired by God, not just the broad thought’.
