In the summer of 2005 a nationwide survey was conducted by ‘Generation Next’, a small group of young men training, or considering training, for the Christian ministry. Its aim was to give young men a voice in the current debate amongst Christian leaders about the reasons why so few men are coming forward for full-time pastoral ministry.
The survey was completed by 400 men, who answered questions on a range of issues connected with full-time ministry. The comprehensive report, published in February 2007, may be of interest to readers and is available from the web site www.generationnext.org.uk
It represents a broad cross-section of tomorrow’s church leaders and highlights areas for further consideration.
