Human Tissue and Embryo BillThe Human Tissue and Embryo (Draft) Bill will come before parliament in the Autumn. Christian and anti-abortion groups hope to use the opportunity to appeal for ever greater restrictions on abortion and on embryo experimentation. When this bill comes before Parliament it is hoped that parliamentary members of both houses will be made aware that people care deeply about these issues. Writing to or calling MPs and/or peers is one way of impressing on them that people oppose many aspects of the bill. The Human Tissue and Embryo (Draft) Bill constitutes a complete review of the law surrounding fertility treatment and embryology. However, during the bill’s passage other areas of law will also be covered. For example, abortion law will no doubt be debated. Both the Christian Institute and the Lawyer’s Christian Fellowship (LCF) have helpful material relating to these vital issues.
