John Newton Project

The John Newton Project has made another urgent appeal for funds, as it is still short of this year’s expenses. The recent increase in postage stamp prices has contributed much to its costs.
According to its latest newsletter, the charitable foundation needs roughly £6,000 more, despite a fundraising earlier this year for which the project said it was extremely grateful.
The project is currently exploring several opportunities for publishing its transcripts of Newton’s writings, which it has been preparing in depth for many years, occasionally printing excerpts.
The main items it would like to progress at present are Newton’s diaries, stretching intermittently from 1751 to 1805.
