This short book, originally published in 1873, was penned by Robert Ireland (1827–1881), a minister within the Free Church of Scotland, who served the Lord in Aberdeenshire and Edinburgh. An obituary penned by Revd Dr Bonar containing details of his life and ministry can be found online and makes fascinating reading. Within this, reference is made to the above volume, as follows: ‘into many a weary and troubled heart he brought what he himself so happily wrote of – “Light from Calvary”.’
