40 years of creation

The Institute for Christian Research (ICR) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this autumn. It was founded in 1970 with the aim of promoting creation thinking through scientific research into the origin of species, and to educate the public around the world as to the truth about biblical creation.

The founder, Dr Henry Morris, was a respected scientist in his own field of hydrology, who authored The Genesis Flood in 1961. Dr Morris saw clearly that good science – the proper handling and interpretation of scientific evidence – would demonstrate the veracity of the biblical accounts of Creation and the Flood.

He had a vision to equip believers with evidence of the Bible’s accuracy and authority through scientific research, educational programmes and media presentations, all conducted within a thoroughly biblical framework.

As part of the ICR’s 40th celebrations, it is holding an anniversary banquet in Dallas Texas (www.icr.org).
