Are aliens real?
Talking to alien beings could cause trouble for Earth, according to physicist Stephen Hawking.
Just months after the Expelled film showed atheist Prof. Richard Dawkins suggesting that intergalactic beings could have spawned life on earth, Prof. Hawking has suggested that aliens are probably out there, but that communicating with them could be dangerous for humans.
An Associated Press report into a new documentary called Into the universe with Stephen Hawking quoted the renowned scientist as saying that intelligent alien life forms almost certainly exist – but that communicating with them could be ‘too risky’.
In the programme, Hawking says, ‘We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach’.
If science could extend its reach beyond the Milky Way, the mathematical probability of encountering intelligent, even belligerent, life forms is possible, Hawking said. The programme was first viewed on the US Discovery Channel in April.
When proponents of evolutionary science have to resort to belief in aliens as a more rational probability than the existence of God, Christians are reminded of the hollowness of evolutionists’ anti-creation arguments.
We believe in a single, rational creator; they clutch at outer space for answers. If it were not so sad to see great minds scraping the science barrel for answers, the idea that aliens spawned life on earth would be laughable. ‘Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?’ (1 Corinthians 1:20).
