Faith without fear

Dr John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York, is backing a campaign, called FaithwithoutFear.org, to help the persecuted Christians in Orissa, India.

Since 2008, violence has escalated across the province, with many professing Christians being caught up in the storm. Premier Christian Media’s chief executive, Peter Kerridge, said that more than 120 people have died, and 50,000 people have been driven from their homes.

FaithwithoutFear.org is a joint campaign from Premier Christian Media and Christian ministry Open Doors. It aims to put pressure on the government to help care for the 50,000-strong professing Christian community that has been displaced and is still facing persecution, and to push for a change in the law.

Dr John Sentamu told Premier Christian Radio, ‘I will always support justice for those who are persecuted for their faith around the globe’.
