Night under nets
More than 250 people gathered at Holy Trinity Church, Brompton (HTB), from across London to raise awareness about malaria.
Called a ‘Night under Nets’, the event saw people from all denominations and even other religions spending the night at HTB as part of World Malaria Day.
The aim was to highlight the plight of the world’s poorest nations which suffer badly from the disease. Despite being preventable, malaria claims up to one million deaths a year, most of which are children.
More than £5,000 was raised on the night, together with 300 Olyset bed nets, donated by Sumitomo Chemical, that will go to leading charities in the fight against malaria.
