Ruth Graham

Ruth Graham, wife of Rev. Billy Graham, died on 14 June, aged 87 years. She was a widely respected Christian lady and a faithful support for her husband. Her father, L. Nelson Bell, was a Presbyterian missionary doctor in Qingjiang, China. Ruth met Billy at Wheaton College, Illinois, and they were married in 1943. Although Billy Graham was a Baptist she remained a Presbyterian by conviction.
Due to her husband’s travels, she bore the major responsibility for raising their five children. She helped establish the Ruth and Billy Graham Children’s Health Centre in Asheville, and the Billy Graham Training Centre near Montreat.
