NHS England has confirmed it is to open six regional centres over the next two years to support children through their gender transition.

The first will be launched in Bristol this year, with another scheduled to open in the East of England in March next year (2025). There will also be services for Wales.

In addition to two existing clinics, this will take the total number up to eight, as part of what the health service has called an ‘overhaul’ of gender services for children and young people.
