Pastor’s relative beaten

A man left for dead after a mob attack in Karachi was beaten by local police who, it is claimed, dragged the victim to a police station and incarcerated him.
Reports sent to a British Pakistani Christian organisation revealed that Asfaq Munawar was seized and interrogated by the mob as to whether he was related to Christian pastor Rev. Eric Sarwar, who has been under serious persecution.
The mob left Mr Munawar for dead, firing in the air, while the police allegedly did nothing to help the victim, reports stated.
Mr Sarwar — whose church helped aid flood victims last year — has reported three attacks on his family in the past two years. In 2009, he was kidnapped by fundamentalists, while in Easter 2010 his parents and wife came under attack.
