Christian men are fighting a war. It is a war that we often do not know how to win, and we may not believe that victory in this life is possible. In this book, Barnard recognises that men need help to banish the despair which so often characterises our battles with particular sins and to enter the fray with gospel confidence. I believe that many will find it to be a useful resource in this regard. 

It should be stressed that this is not a self-help book, but a Christ-centred work which continually acknowledges that killing sin is a work of grace empowered by the Holy Spirit.
